Beaches Of Bengal
West Bengal is the state on the eastern coastline of India that overlooks the Bay of Bengal. Encompassing a diverse geography, West Bengal is home to both mountains and beaches. The clear waters of the Bay of Bengal, the estuaries of the mighty Ganga and the lazily stretched coastline make Bengal a paradise for the water lovers. With a number of unspoilt and unexplored beaches, Bengal is lately becoming a first choice for the beach lovers. With the calm and composed atmosphere and the beautifully playing waters, beaches here quietly romance with the undulating beauty of the sea. Digha is most popular sea beach and tourist spot of West Bengal. Digha has a low gradient with a shallow sand beach and known as the 'Brighton of the East'. Shankarpur is very close to Digha. Most tourists who visit Digha make it a point to visit Shankarpur before leaving. Mandarmani is a newly developed tourist spot. Water sports are a huge attraction here. The Bay of Bengal looks amazingly beautiful and blue from here. Close it Mandarmani is Tajpur which is still a very virgin location, it is slowly being discovered by tourists and adventurers. Perhaps the surprise pack of the lot is the trio of Bakkhali , Frazerganj and Henry's Island.
